Advertising and Related Preferences

These settings are designed to assist our customers in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom in managing the use and placement of cookies and similar technologies by third-party companies. These partners process your data, including personal information such as your IP address, for purposes related to advertising, content personalization, measurement, and analytics.

What Information Is Being Utilized?

IP Addresses: An IP address is a numerical label assigned by your Internet Service Provider to any internet connection. It does not always correspond specifically to your device and may not serve as a consistent identifier. Its primary function is to facilitate the routing of information across the internet and to present online content, including advertisements, on your connected device.

Device Characteristics: These are technical specifications of the device you are using that do not uniquely identify you, such as the language settings, time zone, or operating system.

Device Identifiers: A device identifier is a unique sequence of characters allocated to your device or browser through cookies or other storage technologies. This identifier may be generated or accessed to recognize your device across various web pages from the same site or across different sites and applications.

Probabilistic identifiers: A probabilistic identifier is formed by integrating various attributes linked to your device, such as the browser type or operating system, along with the IP address of your internet connection. With your consent, further attributes like the installed fonts or screen resolution can be included to enhance the accuracy of the probabilistic identifier. This identifier is termed “probabilistic” because multiple devices may exhibit similar characteristics and share the same internet connection. It can be utilized to identify your device across various web pages on the same site or across different sites and applications.

Authentication-derived identifiers: An identifier generated from authentication information, such as the contact details associated with your online accounts on various websites or applications (for instance, email addresses or phone numbers) or customer identifiers provided by your telecom service provider, can be employed to recognize you across different websites, applications, and devices when you log in using the same contact information.

Browsing and interaction data: Your online behaviour, including the websites you visit, the applications you use, the content you search for on this service, and your interactions with content or advertisements—such as the frequency with which you view specific content or ads and whether you click on them.

User-provided data: Information that you may have submitted through forms (for example, feedback or comments) or during account creation (such as your age or occupation).

Non-precise location data: An estimation of your location represented as an area with a minimum radius of 500 meters. Your approximate location can be inferred from your connection’s IP address, among other factors.

Accurate location information: Your exact position within a radius of less than 500 meters is determined by your GPS coordinates and will only be utilized with your consent.

User profiles: Certain attributes, such as potential interests, purchasing intentions, and consumer profiles, may be deduced or constructed from your past online behaviour, including the content you have accessed, the services you have utilized, and the duration of your engagement with various online materials and services, as well as the details you have provided, such as your age and occupation.

Privacy preferences: Your choices regarding how your data is processed, informed by the information you have received.

Hashed information: This may encompass hashed versions of your name, email address, gender, date of birth, phone number, city, state, and postal code.

You have the ability to modify your privacy settings using the options provided below. These settings can be altered at any time by returning to this site (autobid.london/gdpr). If you have previously granted consent for any of the purposes listed below and wish to revoke that consent with a single click, please select the option to withdraw consent for all.

Additionally, we utilize cookies and similar technologies that are crucial for delivering our services and ensuring the functionality of our site. Our Collaborators

We collaborate with 11 partners to deliver the tailored experiences you appreciate across our range of products and services. Our partners fall into two categories, each offering distinct options for managing your privacy preferences:

‘Framework Partners’ are engaged in the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s Transparency Consent Framework (IAB TCF), enabling you to regulate how they gather and utilize your data through the toggles provided below. To learn more about each partner and to make your selections, please click ‘Show partners’ in the Framework Partners section below.

‘Non-Framework Partners’ necessitate that you manage your data collection and usage directly with them. For guidance on how to do this with each partner, refer to the partner links in the Non-Framework Partners section below. If you prefer not to share your information with them, simply ensure that any toggle in the Framework Partners section is set to ‘No.’

Framework Partners

Purpose 1: Store and/or access information on a device

Explanation: Cookies, device identifiers, or similar online identifiers (such as login-based identifiers, randomly assigned identifiers, and network-based identifiers), along with additional information (including browser type, language, screen size, and supported technologies), can be stored or accessed on your device to recognize it each time it connects to an application or website for one or more of the purposes outlined here.

Examples:

Many of the purposes described in this notice depend on the storage or access of information from your device when you engage with an app or visit a website. For instance, a vendor or publisher may need to place a cookie on your device during your initial visit to a website to recognize your device on subsequent visits by retrieving this cookie each time.

Purpose 2: Utilize Limited Data for Advertising Selection

What this entails: The advertisements you encounter on this platform may be tailored based on limited information, including the website or application you are accessing, your approximate location, the type of device you are using, or the content you are currently engaging with (or have previously engaged with), in order to minimize the frequency of ad exposure.

This entails data regarding your interactions with this service (including submitted forms and viewed content) may be collected and integrated with additional information about you, such as your past activities on this service and other platforms, or data from users with similar behaviours. This information is utilized to construct or enhance a profile that may encompass your potential interests and personal characteristics. This profile can subsequently be employed to deliver advertisements that are more aligned with your inferred interests, both by this service and other organizations.

The advertisements you encounter on this platform may be influenced by your advertising profiles, which can encompass your interactions on this service as well as other websites or applications (such as the forms you fill out and the content you view), along with your potential interests and personal characteristics.

Data regarding the advertisements you encounter and your interactions with them can be utilized to assess the effectiveness of an advertisement for you and other users, as well as to determine if the advertising objectives were achieved. This includes metrics such as whether you viewed an ad, clicked on it, or made a purchase as a result, among other interactions. Such insights are crucial for evaluating the relevance of advertising campaigns.

Examples:

You clicked on a “Black Friday” discount advertisement from a traderwhile browsing their profile and subsequently made a purchase. This click will be associated with your transaction. The measurement of your interaction, along with that of other users, will provide data on how many clicks on the advertisement resulted in purchases.

You are among a select few who clicked on an advertisement promoting an “Bathroom Repairs” discount from a trader profile. The publisher seeks to generate reports to analyse how frequently this specific ad placement, particularly the “Bathroom Repairs” advertisement, has been viewed or clicked by you and other users. This information will assist the publisher and its partners, such as advertising agencies, in optimizing ad placements.

Purpose 9: Analyse audiences using statistical data or integrated information from various sources

What this entails: Reports can be created by merging different data sets, such as user profiles, statistics, market research, and analytics, to assess interactions with both advertising and non-advertising content. This analysis helps identify shared traits among users, which can be useful for determining which target demographics are more responsive to specific ad campaigns or content types.

Examples:

The proprietor of an online bookstore seeks commercial reports that detail the percentage of visitors who browsed the site without making a purchase, as well as those who bought the latest celebrity autobiography. Additionally, the reports include demographic information such as average age and gender distribution for each category. To generate these statistics, data regarding user navigation on the site and personal characteristics is aggregated with other relevant data.

An advertiser aims to gain insights into the audience engaging with its advertisements. To achieve this, the advertiser collaborates with a research organization to analyse the characteristics of users who interacted with the ad in comparison to the typical profiles of users on similar platforms across various devices. This analysis reveals that the primary audience for the advertisements predominantly accesses them via mobile devices and is likely to fall within the 45-60 age demographic.

Purpose 10: Enhance and refine services

What this entails: Data regarding your engagement with this service, including interactions with advertisements or content, can significantly contribute to the enhancement of existing products and services, as well as the creation of new offerings based on user behaviour and audience characteristics. It is important to note that this purpose does not encompass the development or enhancement of user profiles and identifiers.

Examples:

A technology platform collaborating with a social media provider observes an increase in users accessing their mobile app. By analysing user profiles, it discovers that a substantial number are connecting via mobile networks. Consequently, it implements a new technology to deliver advertisements specifically designed for mobile devices that require low bandwidth, thereby optimizing their effectiveness.

An advertiser seeks to find a method for showcasing ads on an innovative consumer device. To achieve this, it gathers data on how users engage with this new device to assess the feasibility of creating a novel advertising display mechanism tailored for it.

Please be aware that your options to opt-out are restricted to the aforementioned purposes and do not extend to the special purposes listed below.

Special Purposes:

Special Purpose 1: Ensure security, prevent and detect fraud, and rectify errors

Explanation: Your data may be utilized to monitor and avert unusual and potentially fraudulent activities (such as bot-driven ad clicks), as well as to guarantee that systems and processes function correctly and securely. Additionally, it can be employed to resolve any issues that you, the publisher, or the advertiser may face in the delivery of content and advertisements, as well as in your interactions with them.

It is important to note that data collected for the purposes of ensuring security, preventing fraud, and debugging may include automatically transmitted device characteristics for identification, precise geolocation data, and information obtained through active scanning of device characteristics for identification, without the need for separate disclosure or opt-in consent.

Illustration:

An advertising intermediary distributes ads from various advertisers to its network of partner websites. It observes a significant surge in clicks on ads from a particular advertiser and analyses the data regarding the click sources, discovering that 80% of these clicks originate from bots rather than actual users.

Special Purpose 2: Deliver and present advertising and content

Explanation: Specific information, such as an IP address or device capabilities, is utilized to ensure the technical compatibility of the content or advertisements and to facilitate the delivery of the content or ad to your device.

When you click on a link within an article, it typically directs you to a different page or section of the same article. This process involves the following steps: 1°) your browser sends a request to the server associated with the website, and 2°) the server responds with the requested content (“here is the article you asked for”), utilizing technical data that your device automatically includes in the request to ensure the correct display of the information and images related to the article. This exchange of information is essential for delivering the content that appears on your screen.

Special Purpose 3: Preserve and Communicate Privacy Preferences

Explanation: The preferences you express regarding the purposes and entities outlined in this notice are recorded and transmitted to those entities as digital signals (for example, a sequence of characters). This is crucial for enabling both the service and the respective entities to honour your preferences.

Feature 1: Data Matching and Integration: Your activity on this service may be matched and integrated with additional information about you from various sources. This could include your interactions on other online platforms, usage of loyalty cards in physical stores, or responses to surveys, all in alignment with the purposes outlined in this notice.

Feature 2: Device Linking: To further the objectives described in this notice, your device may be recognized as potentially linked to other devices owned by you or your household. This could occur if you are logged into the same service on both your smartphone and computer, or if both devices share the same Internet connection.

Feature 3: Automatic Device Identification: Your device may be identified separately from others based on information it transmits automatically while accessing the Internet. This includes data such as your Internet connection’s IP address or the type of web browser you are using, in accordance with the purposes detailed in this notice.
